The Storm

Hasn't really been THAT bad.  It did snow all day- that fine icy snow, I'm sure the roads aren't that good and we're suppose to get more tonight.  The kids are hoping there's no school tomorrow- they're going to hate it when they have to make it up later.

Here are the pics.

We're what's suppose to be the 4"-6" range- it's 5:00 pm and we only got around 3-4 so far.

All the snow had been gone- this is 8:30 am

This is 9:45 am

This is 10:45 am

This is 4:51 pm.  I had Adam and Justin go and shovel, but our nice neighbor- Mike came over with his HUGE snow blower and did most of the driveway for us- very neighborly and nice!

It's clear now and it looks like the clouds are breaking, but supposedly it's suppose to snow all night- we'll see.  The stupid "news" loves to embellish the snow, if this is it, this was nothing.

Calm Before The Storm

It's March 1st.  It was a pretty nice day outside but we were in most of it.  Adam had to get new glasses so Amy took him and I took Justin and Luke to one of our lakes just to get out.  Kind of cool that the lake was frozen.

We're suppose to get HAMMERED by snow Sunday into Monday, so today is the calm before the storm.

If you look closely at the video, you see a hump in the water--that's a drowned deer- poor thing probably fell through the ice.

Here are some photographs:

I walked up to the bridge and took this shot

There are these huge shells all over- Luke loves them, but they stink!

The Lake-- a pretty shot

Happy Luke

Another lake shot- Pretty

Kind of an artsy picture

Luke, Jojo, and Brutal Cold

February 11th and it's -8 degrees F before the kids go off to school.    The sun just rose and everyone has their heat on, as evidences by smoke out of their chimney's.  I thought that was a cool shot.  And the past few days I've been playing with my camera so I took a cute one of Luke and a couple of Jojo.

The first one of Luke is from Saturday-- our neighbors behind us went sledding down their hill and Luke went.  He was outside for hours.

More Canonsburg Wildlife

Sunday morning and across the street a deer was eating our neighbor's bush.  I saw this a few weeks ago and didn't get a picture.

The people that live in that house are old- their names are Rose and Hank.  I'm sure they wouldn't be thrilled to know a deer was eating their bush.

He didn't move.  He just stood there.

I don't think they really like eating the bushes, but there's not to choose from this late in the winter.

He's just looking.  Didn't move.

Jojo saw him and wanted a piece of him.

First time in 2012 out in the snow

Today is the first day it's not too cold out and there was snow  Luke wanted to go out (for a while now) and they all went out for quite a while today.  Here are some pictures.

Just getting out-- nice pose.

A bit silly

Justin getting ready to throw snow

Luke being Luke

They got a sled!

Adam on the sled

Luke on the sled

A close up of Luke on the sled

Justin on the sled

I went in and changed the lens to my telephoto lens.  They didn't know I was back outside with my close up lens.  Justin was eating snow like an animal-- funny and cute-- here's one picture of that

And him getting up with his "mustache"- he has no idea I'm taking pictures.

A cool shot of Justin spitting the snow out of his mouth.
