Fathers Day 2011

SATURDAY-Father's Day Weekend

I wanted to spend Father's Day with the boys. Last year we used to get Slushies from Sheetz and then go for a walk at a lake or some woods.

We were going to go into the woods with a lake about 20 minutes from our house, but it looked like there was a lot of poison ivy at the entrance -- here is the first attempt at 1 lake to get in

We gave up here and went to another lake. Here we're watching people fish and the kids are enjoying their slushies.

Their brown tongue

After a while of watching fishing, we walked around the other side of the lake where we got the idea of using the cups to catch fish. The kids LOVED it.

Before we went home, we saw this cool street sign on a tree

SUNDAY-- More slushies and more back to the Lake!

I wanted to go to a different lake and we went there but it wasn't as fun as the first so we went back.

After a while at the lake, I knew there was a driving range around the corner (golf), so I took the kids there- they LOVED that too

First Justin driving

Now Adam Driving

Luke was very cute here- you can see him in the background, I don't know why I don't have some close ups of him???? He dominates this blog anyway.

A point of interest from Saturday that I didn't put up there. On Saturday a couple came with canoes and brought their dog to go for a boat ride-- here is the video, enjoy (I'm too lazy to insert these videos on the Saturday section).

Baltimore Harbor

I was in Baltimore for some training-- not impressed with the city, seems to be a lot of crime, but the harbor was nice. Here are a few shots.

It was very hot and humid on this particular evening, and it was starting to get late. We saw a cop busting some loser in the middle of the road, and one of the guys that was walking with us was getting nervous about being out when it was starting to get dark. Right before we got back to our hotel, a homeless man was talking and yelling to himself right behind us. We probably got back just in time.

Grilling on Memorial day and Grandma's Birthday

Grandma and grandpa over for Memorial day and grandma's birthday, and here is the cookout fair.

Justin's Portfolio day

At the end of every year at Cannon-Mac school district there is "Portfolio Day." Throughout the year the teacher saves all the kids work and on that day parents come in for various things to see what their kids are doing in school, and then at the end pick 3 items to put in the kids' "portfolio," so in 8th grade, there will be a representative folder of the kids work from kindergarten on- it's a VERY cool idea.

This year for Justin's class they did a play, a scavenger hunt, and then finally Justin and I picked out 3 things for his portfolio-- here it all is.

Luke's last day of day care

Here I am taking Luke in the car for his last day of day care. Amy stay's home this summer so the kids get a nice and relaxing summer. I'm glad Amy will be home and will be able to have fun with them this summer.

Luke going in-- that nutty kid is Riley- he's kinda bad, I won't miss him

Add Video

Luke washing his hands for breakfast- they have him trained there, he didn't even have to be told to wash his hands. After that, Luke asked me "shouldn't you be going now?"

Going to Mingo Park

Going to beautiful Mingo Park. Lots of woods, lots of snakes. This was over Memorial day weekend and grandma and grandpa were over and it was grandma's birthday- you'll see Happy Birthday to her a few posts down.

Here is the beginning of the ride down.
